Announcing: Ernest Hardy's Blood Beats: Vol. 2 / the bootleg joints!

Ernest Hardy will be reading from Blood Beats: Vol. 1 and Blood Beats: Vol. 2 at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in the Poe Room at Enoch Pratt Free Library, 400 Cathedral St., Baltimore, MD 21201. Ernest will be introduced by Baltimore Sun music critic Rashod Ollison. See you there!

RedBone Press publisher Lisa C. Moore is part of a panel discussion on Monday, February 25, 2008 at the University of the District of Columbia. The panelists, Nathan Hale Williams, Gregory Ford, Lorenzo E. Sanders III, Courtney Snowden, Bishop Rainey Cheeks, Lisa C. Moore and moderator Archene Turner will discuss "Being Black and Gay in America" following a showing of the Rodney Evans film, Brother to Brother. (Not to be confused with the book, Brother to Brother, edited by Essex Hemphill). Film starts at 2 p.m.; discussion afterward. The movie (which you can buy here) is excellent, and the post-film discussion promises to be lively!

Welcome to 2008! This year is a busy one for RedBone Press. We've spent the past couple of months laying plans, working behind the scenes... and you'll soon see the rewards.

This coming weekend I'm being feted as a Model of Hope by Pride & Equality magazine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Thank you to Teresa Ewers for arranging the weekend's activities!

Then, to start the RedBone book year off in right mind, there's a Spirited book signing in Baltimore, 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008. Come to the Spiral Dance Womyn's Center and Bookstore, 2505 E. Oliver St., Baltimore, MD 21215 and hear selections from Spirited. Readers include Rev. Beverly Saunders Biddle, Dr. Amina Binta, Tracee Ford, Rev. Dorothy Harris, Tonya Parker and H.L. Sudler. Thank you to the wonderfully talented Spirited contributors for continuing to believe in this Spirited movement!
