Mr. Hardy goes to New York City



RedBone Press is most pleased to invite fans and friends of Ernest Hardy (author of Blood Beats: Vol. 1) and RedBone Press to the 2007 PEN/Beyond Margins Award ceremony, 7-9 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2007 at Donnell Library Center, 20 West 53rd St. (betweeen 5th and 6th avenues), New York City. Hosted by Jaime Manrique and Sonia Sanchez, the event is free and open to the public.

The PEN/Beyond Margins Awards celebrate outstanding books by writers of color. Also receiving awards are Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie (Half of a Yellow Sun, published by Knopf), Harryette Mullen (Recyclopedia, published by Graywolf Press), and Alberto Alvero Rios (The Theater of Night, published by Copper Canyon Press).

Also coming up: Gay Men of African Descent (GMAD) hosts a book discussion 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007 for Ernest Hardy, where he will talk about Blood Beats: Vol. 1. Come to GMAD, 103 East 125th St., Suite 503, New York City. 212-828-1697.
