Out at the Library!
In celebration of Gay Pride Month in June, the Friends of the Library, Montgomery County (Maryland) is sponsoring Out at the Library, a new series promoting the work of gay and lesbian writers, filmmakers, journalists and publishers.
At 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Twinbrook Library, Lisa C. Moore, founder of DC-based RedBone Press, will provide insight into the world of black lesbian and gay writers and publishing. Other events include Kevin Sessums, author of Mississippi Sissy, on June 4; Brian Sloan, author of A Really Nice Prom Mess, on June 18; and filmmaker and former Fury Joan E. Biren (JEB), presenting her documentary, No Secret Anymore: The Times of Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon, at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, MD.
